I dedicate this page to my brother Esli. Esli is currently an officer in the United States Army. Let me tell you what sort of officer his - how he cares for the men under him and puts their well-being above his own. In 2003, while on a previous tour of duty in Iraq he was issued a HHMMWV (or Humvee to us civilians) with an armored door - we all know by now that not all Humvee's have armored doors - placing himself in greater danger he decided to give away his armored door to an enlisted man who duties put him a little closer to the action than where he would normally be. Not by any means totally safe, my brother voluntarily placed himself in greater danger when it became apparent to him a soldier in his command had a greater need than he did. I consider myself lucky to have a brother like him; the Army is also lucky to have an officer like him.
